RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Women's Basketball team and Head Coach Heather Vulin have announced the addition of graduate forward Agar Farrés Garcia ahead of the 2025-26 season on Monday afternoon.

"Agar is an experienced, high motor player originally from Spain that is relentless around the rim." described Vulin. "She averaged just under a double-double on a championship team and was one of the best NAIA players last year. Her work ethic will immediately impact our team, and she will be an integral part of what we do next season."

Farrés Garcia, a 5-11 forward from Barcelona, Spain, spent the 2024-25 campaign with Florida Memorial on the NAIA circuit in Miami, Florida. She registered 28 starts in 29 games on the floor for the reigning Sun Conference champion Lions.

While competing for Florida Memorial, Farrés Garcia was one of four Lions to play in all 29 contests and paced her team by a wide margin with total rebounds at 282 and averaged 9.8 per-game on both ends. The total and average ranked atop "The Sun Conference", while ranking in the top 35 of the NAIA in the respective category. From the floor, Farrés Garcia led the Lions converting 48.7 percent of her attempts, while accumulating 23 blocks on the defensive end.

Additionally, the Spaniard collected the second-most steals on the team with 64, while assisting on 67 baskets throughout her lone season in South Florida.

Before arriving in the Sunshine State, Farrés Garcia transferred from the Lonestar State, where she competed for the Nelson University Lady Lions Women's Basketball program, also, within the NAIA sphere. For the Lady Lions, she accumulated numerous records including the single season rebound record of 356.

While at Nelson, she led the Lady Lions in numerous categories, that included field-goal percentage, where she paced the program with a stellar 51.4 percent, while posting 353 rebounds, 247 more than the next highest total for the Lady Lions. Finally, Farrés Garcia led the team in steals (57), assists (88), and blocks (28).

For Farrés Garcia, the accolades continued rolling in, where she captured the Sooner-Athletic Conference's Newcomer of the Year award, while landing on the conference's All-Defensive Team, and All-Sooner Athletic Second Team. She capitalized her junior season with a spot on the NCCAA All-Central Region Second Team.

Prior to landing in Texas, Farrés Garcia began her collegiate career on the NCAA circuit at Division II's University of Colorado Colorado Springs from 2021-23. The Spaniard put together 37 starts in 57 total contests appeared in. Averaged nearly 21 minutes on the floor, and averaged 5.7 rebounds per game.

In 2021-22, Farrés Garcia ranked 7th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in rebounds per-game.

Prior to landing stateside, Farrés Garcia played her prep ball at Almeda and Igualada, while finishing fourth at the 2019 Spanish Championships.

"That completes our team for next season." says Vulin. "My staff and I put in significant amounts of time scouring the country at all collegiate levels and around the world for experienced talent to compete for a MAAC championship, and I'm excited to get to work with this group."

Farrés Garcia will be pursuing her Masters in Business Administration in Riverdale.
