Manhattan (0-1) continues its season-opening three-match homestand against Wagner (0-0) at Gaelic Park on Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 pm. Fans can catch all the action on the Jasper Sports Network (JSN) for a nominal fee.



LAST WEEK
The Jaspers dropped a hard-fought 17-10 decision to Bryant despite three goals from freshman Brandon Grinnell and two apiece from sophomore Parker Giarratana, freshman Luke Hanson and classmate Reid Martin while fellow rookie CJ Scharf had a pair of assists.



THE FRESHMEN CLASS ...
Combined for eight of the 10 Manhattan goals and three of the six assists.

YOUTH IS SERVED
Last weekend, 13 of the 21 Jaspers to see action were either freshmen or sophomores.

CARROLL STANDS OUT
Sophomore Robert Carroll won 18-of-30 faceoffs he took while registering a game-high nine groundballs to go along with an assist.

ZINGARO MANS THE NET
Junior Michael Zingaro began his third year as the Manhattan starter in goal with 17 saves against Bryant.

GIARRATANA TABBED PRESEASON ALL-MAAC
Giarratana, last year's MAAC Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-MAAC selection, was tabbed Preseason All-MAAC while the Jaspers were selected to finish seventh.

THE JSN
The JSN will be broadcasting all nine men's home matches this year for a nominal fee. Click HERE for more information.

THE OPPONENT
Wagner, which returns 25 letterwinners, went 6-9 a year ago and was picked to finish seventh in the Northeast Conference (NEC) preseason poll. The Seahawks return their top-three scorers from a year ago in Andrew Streilein (21 goals, 22 assists), Patrick McMenamin (16 goals, 17 assists) and William McMenamin (28 goals, 3 assists).

ALL-TIME VS. WAGNER
The Jaspers hold a 14-1 advantage in the all-time series while outscoring the Staten Island-based institution a 208-100 count.

DYK???
The teams used to each compete in the MAAC with Manhattan winning all 11 meetings from 2000-2010.

AT GAELIC PARK ...
The Jaspers are 6-0, all-time, against Wagner with their last win coming by a 20-5 count on April 3, 2012.

A YEAR AGO ... 
Wagner defeated the Jaspers by a 15-8 decision despite five goals from Giarratana. Patrick McMenamin had six scores to pace the Seahawks.

NEC ACTION
This weekend's contest will be the second of four matches against teams from the NEC. 

LUCKY NUMBER NINE
Manhattan's nine home matches in 2017 is the most in program history.


THE RETURNERS
Kelleher returns 23 letterwinners, including 10 starters, from last year's squad. 

NEWCOMERS
Kelleher welcomes 19 newcomers to the roster this season, fueled by a 17-member recruiting class.

THE STAFF
For the second year in a row, Kelleher will be assisted by the duo of John Odierna and Andrew Hodgson.

IT'S REALLY BEEN 15 YEARS???
This season marks the 15-year anniversary of Manhattan's 2002 MAAC Championship lacrosse squad. The Jaspers rolled to a perfect 8-0 league record before besting Saint Joseph's in the first round of the MAAC Tournament and Mount St. Mary's in the Championship.

TANNER INDUCTED TO HALL OF FAME

Eugene Tanner, '05 was inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame this past winter. Tanner is the Japers' all-time leader in assists (89) and points (186), while his 98 career goals are second-most all-time. Tanner also was selected to the MAAC'S 35th Anniversary Second Team this past summer.
