KEY MANHATTAN MATCH-UPS

New Season - Manhattan has lost five-of-six and needs to put that stretch in the rear view mirror.
Play Smart - The Jaspers have just nine student-athletes, including eight of the scholarship variety, and will need to play good, smart defense in order to become the first team since the 2001 Siena Saints to win four games en route to the title at the MAAC Championship.

FIRST-ROUND ACTION
Manhattan is 4-5 in opening round games, including 4-3 since the MAAC expanded for the 1989-1990 season.

DRIVE TO THE TITLE
The Jaspers claimed their second-straight MAAC Championship a year ago thanks to outscoring the opposition by 14.3 ppg in the three-game event while posting a +6.3 margin on the glass and limiting opposing shooters to a miniscule 38.0 percent (60-for-158) conversion rate, including 22.0 percent (11-for-50) from distance, while winning all three games by double-figures.

NOT BAD
Over the last three years, Manhattan is 44-6 when leading at the half, including going a perfect 15-0 a year ago, 21-7 when limiting teams to less than 40 percent shooting, 25-9 when winning the battle of the boards and 38-17 when forcing more turnovers than the opposition. Additionally, since the start of last season the Jaspers are 26-3 when leading with five minutes to play.

The Jaspers' storied men's basketball team was established in 1904-05 and took a two-year hiatus during the 1943-44 and 1944-45 season due to World War II.
