RIVERDALE, NY Jorden Scott, the Head Coach of the Manhattan Jaspers Men's Soccer program, has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs and Program Development. The announcement was made by Irma Garcia, Director of Athletics, on Thursday afternoon.

Associated with the move, Scott will step down as the Men's Soccer Head Coach, effective immediately.

"Jorden's soccer accomplishments, along with his transformational work spearheading the development and fundraising of our Gaelic Park Athletic Center (GPAC) on campus, athletic training facility spotlighted his leadership potential." Said Garcia. "His diverse expertise and broad capabilities are perfect fits at the administrative level as we continue to develop the student-athletes and teams of Manhattan University."

In his new role, Scott will be responsible for developing external partnerships that support departmental objectives and the Lasallian mission. He will also work alongside the 21 Manhattan athletic teams to support, guide, and develop all areas of the programs, ensuring they continue to compete in the MAAC and serve our Jasper community.

"I am truly grateful for the belief and trust given to me and thank the leadership at Manhattan for prioritizing the development of our programs and incredible coaches," stated Scott. "While I'm sad to step back from the sidelines, I am excited to remain in the Jasper community I love, and I can't wait to support all our programs in a new and dynamic way.  Our men's soccer program was a lifetime of work, and the next head coach will be arriving at an environment ready to succeed with elite players, supportive alumni, and an ambitious structure."

After becoming the eighth head coach of the Jaspers' Men's Soccer program in 2013, Scott accumulated a multitude of accolades including being named the MAAC Coach of the Year in his first season, following a record-setting conference season with five victories, and a then-program record of 17 points.

Throughout Scott's tenure, the Scottish native compiled 35 wins in four seasons between 2017 and 2021. In 2018, his Jasper program achieved a program record 12 wins, including its highest non-conference winning percentage at .875. During the run, the Green and White recorded its first victory over a ranked opponent in program history by defeating No. 25 Fordham and was in the top 30 RPI ranking for the first time.

Following the 2021 campaign, the Jaspers under the tutelage of Scott, saw the programs first MLS Superdraft selection with the New England Revolution selecting defender François Dulysse, and since then have gone on to produce 4 more student-athletes to the professional ranks.  This includes striker Gunnar Studenhofft, who developed into a strong Jasper attacking presence eventually propelling him into a 2024 MLS Superdraft selection by the Colorado Rapids.

In the last six seasons, Scott has secured five MAAC postseason berths for his program, that included numerous accolades for his student athletes. Most recently after the conclusion of the 2024 season, Scott oversaw a record five Jaspers garnering All-Conference awards. Highlighted by center-back Nassim Akki being named 2022 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, and goalkeeper Marcellin Gohier capturing MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2017. This has all led to Scott being the winningest coach in Jaspers Men's Soccer program history.

Scott, a native of Scotland who built a strong reputation as one of New Jersey's top youth soccer coaches, arrived at Manhattan as assistant coach under Ashley Hammond in 2010.
