RIVERDALE, NY — Junior second baseman Ryan Lordier has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Week, per a release from the conference on Wednesday afternoon. The recognition comes amidst a torrid season for Lordier in his first campaign for the Jaspers.
A native of Millbrae, California, Lordier is batting a team-high .333 average and boasts a team-best .439 on-base percentage and an .849 slugging percentage. The middle infielder has had three five-game hitting streaks this season, and batted .400 (4-10) with two RBIs and two doubles in the series sweep of Saint Peter's this past weekend. Lordier touched home to score the winning run in Manhattan's 2-1 walk-off win over the Peacocks on Sunday, courtesy of Aidan Taclas' two-run double.
Having started 43 of the Jaspers' 44 games this season, Lordier has also found success in the classroom, finishing the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.8 GPA while studying economics.
Lordier and the Jaspers are playing their best baseball of the season, having won five of six and four consecutive. Manhattan (18-26, 10-13 MAAC) returns to action this weekend versus Marist (19-23, 11-11 MAAC).
