Riverdale, NY – 
Manhattan (2-6; 0-1 MAAC) returns home to face Canisius (3-4; 1-0 MAAC) on Saturday, March 25 at 1:00 pm at Gaelic Park. The first 75 students in attendance will receive a buy-one, get-one free chipotle coupon.



LAST YEAR VS. CANISIUS
The Jaspers battled the Golden Griffins in Buffalo and led by one entering the fourth quarter before Canisius ripped off four-straight scores en route to posting a 13-11 victory. Sophomore Parker Giarratana scored a team-high three goals with an assist to pace Manhattan while sophomore Cole Johnson added two scores.


ALL-TIME VS. CANISIUS
The Golden Griffins lead the all-time series by an 18-4 count and have won 10-straight dating back to a 13-6 Jasper victory on April 28, 2007.

FROM BUFFALO WITH SUCCESS ... 
Freshman Reid Martin, a Buffalo native, has made an immediate impact in his first season in Riverdale to the tune of eight goals and an assist. 

AMONG THE LEADERS (TEAM)
Manhattan leads the MAAC and ranks sixth nationally in man-down defensive percentage (.773) and paces the circuit while ranking 14th in ground balls per game (30.4).

PARKER
Giarratana is second in the MAAC and 23rd nationally with 2.63 goals per game while ranking 5th in the league and 55th in the nation with 3.38 points per game.

IN HIS CAREER ...
Giarratana has has 52 goals and has found the back of the net in all but one game.

IN THE NET
Junior Michael Zingaro  continues to rank second nationally with a MAAC-best 13.38 saves per game and made a season-high 18 stops the last time out against UMass Lowell while Giarratana scored two goals.

LEADING THE WAY
Junior Joseph Bressingham ranks 11th nationally with a MAAC-best 7.0 ground balls per game.

LEAN ON ME
Freshman CJ Scharf has notched at least one assist in all eight games, including two three times, and paces the squad while ranking sixth in the MAAC with 1.25 assists per game.

GIARRATANA=CLUTCH
The reigning MAAC Rookie of the Year and preseason All-MAAC selection tied the game against Hartford with two seconds to play in regulation before netting the overtime winner. 

THAT'S JUST WEIRD
In Manhattan's two victories, Giarratanta has both game-winning goals with each win coming by a 14-13 count. The Sunshine State native paces the Jaspers with 21 goals and 26 points.

YEAH, IT FEELS GOOD
Manhattan's win over Hartford avenged a 12-point setback to the Hawks a year ago after also defeating a Wagner team that bested the Jaspers by seven goals last season.

GARVEY FOR THREE
Garvey found the back of the net three times in in the win over Hartford while recording his second hat trick of the season.

THE JASPER NEWCOMERS ...
Have combined for 45 of Manhattan's 78 goals and  29 of its 43 assists this year.

SCOUTING CANISIUS
The Golden Griffins posted an impressive 17-6 win over Marist last weekend and are led by the trio of Connor Kearnan (18 goals, 15 assists), Ryan McKee (12 goals, 6 assists), Jeff Edwards (7 goals, 11 assists).

GRINNELL NAMED MAAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Brandon Grinnell became the second Jasper to be named MAAC Rookie of the Week after scoring three goals with an assist and three ground balls over two games against Delaware and UMass Lowell. On the year, Grinnell has nine goals, five assists and 14 ground balls and is the second Jasper to take home Rookie of the Week honors this year.


PELLETIER NAMED MAAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Trevor Pelletier earned his MAAC Rookie of the Week honors after scoring four goals with two assists over his first two collegiate matches. The Miami native opened his career with a goal and an assist against Bryant before scoring three goals with an assist in Manhattan's thrilling 14-13 triple-overtime win against Wagner. On the year, Pelletier has nine goals, four assists and six ground balls.

RING THE BELL
Senior Connor Flannery was among a group of people invited to help ring the opening bell for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange as part of the One Love Foundation. The One Love Foundation was celebrating reaching over 100,000 people with their Escalation Workshop -- a training program that details warning signs of relationship abuse and how to handle them. 2002 MAAC CHAMPIONS TO BE RECOGNIZED
The 2002 Men's Lacrosse Team, which won the lone MAAC Championship in program history, will be recognized at halftime of the Jaspers' game against Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 1 at 7:00 pm. For the complete article click HERE

IN 2002 …
Manhattan rolled to a perfect 7-0 league record before besting Saint Joseph's in the first round of the MAAC Tournament and Mount St. Mary's in the Championship before dropping a hard-fought contest to Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament.

GIARRATANA TABBED PRESEASON ALL-MAAC
Giarratana, last year's MAAC Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-MAAC selection, was tabbed Preseason All-MAAC while Manhattan was selected to finish seventh.

TANNER INDUCTED TO HALL OF FAME
Eugene Tanner
, '05 was inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame this past winter. Tanner is the Jaspers' all-time leader in assists (89) and points (186), while his 98 career goals are second-most all-time. Tanner also was selected to the MAAC'S 35th Anniversary Second Team this past summer.
