ELVERSON, Pa. - Junior James Edgeworth (Staten Island, N.Y. / Tottenville) led the Jaspers' golf team in the second and final round of the Finegan Invitational with a score of 71 (+1) at the par-70 Stonewall North golf course. Manhattan placed ninth in the tournament with a team total of 601 (+41). All five Jaspers recorded scores of 77 (+7) or better on the final day of competition, as the team inmproved upon its Day 1 score by five strokes.
Freshman Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School) paced the Jaspers with a very strong two-day score of 145 (+5). Schob finished tied for ninth, individually.
Edgeworth and freshman Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, Fla. / Park Vista) concluded the 36-hole event with identical numbers of 151 (+11).
Junior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) carded a final round 77 (+7) to finish with a two-round 155 (+15).
Lafayette took first place in the event, with a team total of 570 (+10). Hofstra and Wagner 582 (+22) finished tied for second.
Manhattan will next compete at the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament, which will begin on Friday, April 24. The event will be held at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Orlando, Fla.
