Lynch Leads Jaspers with 73 at Monmouth Invitational

DEAL, N.J. - The Manhattan golf team placed fifth at the Monmouth Invitational with a team score of 310 (+26) on Thursday. The single-day tournament was held at the par-71 Deal Country Club.

Freshman Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, Fla. / Park Vista) led the Jaspers with a 73 (+2). Lynch's strong round included an eagle on the par-5 fourteenth hole. He and teammate, sophomore Jon Keyes (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point), were the only two players at the competition to record eagles on the day. Keyes' eagle came just prior to the turn on the par-5 ninth. The sophomore concluded the invitational with the second-lowest Manhattan round, at 76 (+5).

Freshman Charles Seward (Tampa, Fla. / Freedom) and junior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) turned in cards of 80 (+9) and 81 (+10), respectively, to round out the Jaspers' scoring players.

Manhattan has a quick turnaround as the squad will compete in its third tournament of the week at the 2015 Finegan Invitational. The event, hosted by La Salle, will take place this Sunday and Monday at the par-70 Stonewall North course in Elverson, Pa.
