NESHANIC STATION, N.J. - The Manhattan golf team placed ninth with a team score of 306 (+18) at the single day Peacock Invitational on Tuesday. The event, held at the par-72 Neshanic Valley Golf Course, was hosted by Saint Peter's.
Junior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) hit the ball exceptionally well, posting a 73 (+1) in his round. The total placed him tied for 12th individually.
Sophomore Jon Keyes (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) continued his impressive run of form since joining the team, with a 75 (+3).
Junior James Edgeworth (Staten Island, N.Y. / Tottenville) and freshman Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, Fla. / Park Vista) concluded their days with rounds of 79 (+7). Their results enabled all four scoring players to finish with totals in the 70s for the first time this spring.
Saint Peter's took first place in the tournament, carding a team score of 292 (+4). Fairleigh Dickinson and Fairfield finished tied for second with equal team marks of 293 (+5).
The Jaspers return to action on Thursday, April 16, when they compete in the Monmouth Invitational at the Deal Golf and Country Club.
