Golf Shatters Two School Records at Doc Gimmler Invitational

Manhattan Concludes Day Two of Wildcat Invitational

MALVERN, Pa. - The Manhattan golf team posted a team score of 311 (+27) on the second and final day of competition at the Wildcat Invitational. The Jaspers two-day total of 636 (+68) placed them tied for 15th overall in the tournament.

Freshman Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School) picked up on Tuesday right where he left off Monday, shooting a 75 (+4) to finish with a 149 (+7). Schob's rounds placed him tied for 22nd individually.

Junior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) dramatically improved upon his Day 1 score with a 75 (+4) on Tuesday.

Sophomore Jon Keyes (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) carded a final round 77 (+6) to conclude his first tournament as a Jasper with a 162 (+20).

Binghamton finished the tournament in first place with a team total of 581 (+13). Delaware and Drexel placed second and third with scores of 584 (+16) and 591 (+23), respectively.

 

Manhattan returns to action on Friday, April 3, when the squad competes in the two-day Dowling Invitational at the Tallgrass Golf Club in Shoreham, N.Y.
