Freshman Schob Shoots Low Score on Day One of Wildcat Invitational

MALVERN, Pa. - The Manhattan men's golf team turned in a score of 325 (+41) in Round 1 of the two-day Wildcat Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Villanova, is being held at the White Manor Country Club.

Conditions for the opening 18 holes of competition were not favorable, as temperatures were in the low 40s with wind gusts upward of 20 miles per hour.

Freshman Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School) carded the low round for the Jaspers, shooting a 74 (+3) on the opening day of play. Schob's total places him just four shots shy of the leader, Josh Holling of Binghamton.

Junior Ross Ketner (Huntington, N.Y. / St. Anthony's) posted an 81 (+10) on Day 1, representing second lowest Manhattan score.

The Jaspers sit in 15th place heading into the second and final day of competition. Players will take the first tee beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
