DURHAM, N.C. - The Manhattan men's golf team turned in a team score of 340 (+52) at the Blue Devil Spring Shootout. The event, a one-day competition, was held at the par 72 Duke Golf Club.
The Jaspers concluded the tournament in 14th place, with the team's best rounds coming from junior James Edgeworth (Staten Island, N.Y. / Tottenville) and freshman Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School). Each golfer carded a score of 84 (+12).
Junior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) and freshman Charles Seward (Tampa, Fla. / Freedom) each posted rounds of 86 (+14).
The host Blue Devils earned a first place result at the competition with a 285 (-3). Coastal Carolina 295 (+7) and Alabama State 298 (+10) finished second and third, respectively.
Manhattan returns to action on Monday, March 30, when they compete in the two-day Wildcat Invitational at the White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa. Villanova will host the tournament.
