BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - The Manhattan men's golf team sits in 10th place following Round 1 of the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Fall Invitational. As a team, the Jaspers finished with a 300 (+20) after the first day of competition at the Wintonbury Hills Golf Course.
Junior Ross Ketner led the squad with a 72 (+2) through the opening 18 holes on Sunday. All five Jaspers concluded Day 1 with scores in the 70s, with freshman Ryan Lynch shooting an opening round 75 (+5). Juniors James Edgeworth and Michael Giannico followed closely behind, posting scores of 76 (+6) and 77 (+7), respectively. Freshman Johnny Schob opened his collegiate career with a 79 (+9).
Boston College leads the 12-school invitational following an opening round 283 (+3). Laval University is in second place, sitting six strokes behind the leaders at 289 (+9). St. Francis University (Pa.) enters Day 2 in third place, with a round one total of 293 (+13).
The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes on Monday afternoon.
