BETHPAGE, N.Y. - The Manhattan golf team concluded the third and final round of the Doc Gimmler Invitational with a team score of 301 (+21) in blustery conditions at the Bethpage Red Golf Course on Saturday afternoon. After the squad broke two school records on Friday, the Jaspers went out to shoot their highest round of the tournament. The team placed 14th at the invitational.

Freshman Johnny Schob continued his stellar play, posting a final round 72 (+2) to lead the team. Fellow freshman Ryan Lynch carded a 76 (+6) in Round 3, and birdied two of the final three holes. "I've been very impressed with how the younger guys have done," junior Michael Giannico said. "They came on strong right off the bat, and have been able to show strong results through their first two collegiate tournaments."

Giannico finished his tournament with a 75 (+5), and placed third on the Jaspers with a three-round total of 223 (+13). "The wind picked up a little bit, especially toward the middle of the day," Giannico said. "Today's wind was a little easier to predict because it came from the same direction the whole day."

Junior James Edgeworth shot a final round 79 (+9) for Manhattan, following his solid performance on Day 1.

Yale earned a first place finish in the tournament, with a team score of 823 (-17). Loyola (Md.) concluded the invitational in second place, five strokes behind the Bulldogs, at 828 (-12). Idaho enjoyed a third place result, posting an 832 (-8).

The Jaspers return to action on Friday, Sept. 19, when they compete in the Rutgers Fall Invitational.
