PRINCETON, N.J. - The distance events at the Larry Ellis Invitational were held Friday night at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium. Four members of the Manhattan College track & field team competed on Friday.
In the women's 800 meters, Emmy Koskinen (Sodertalje, Sweden) placed sixth in her heat and 48th overall in a time of 2:14.46. Maria Jangsten (Gothenburg, Sweden) finished second in her heat in a season-best time of 2:15.81. On the men's side, Kevin D'Emic (Rockaway Point, N.Y.) posted a time of 1:56.75 in the 800 meters and Tom Voorheis (Syracuse, N.Y.) finished the 5000 meters in 15:36.19, more than 10 seconds faster than his previous season best.
The meet concludes on Saturday, but Manhattan will not compete in any of Saturday's events. The team returns to action next weekend at the Penn Relays and Yale Springtime Invitational.
