Siljeback-Larsen collected 2,910 points in the first four events, giving him a lead of 219 points over Fordham's Sam Houston. Siljeback-Larsen's heptathlon long jump of 7.03 meters (23 feet, ¾ inch) was good enough to qualify for the IC4A Championships in that event. Manhattan's Ryan Degnan (Seaford, N.Y.) currently sits in seventh place with 2,427 points. The heptathlon concludes on Saturday with the 55 meter hurdles, pole vault, and 1000 meters.
In the women's pentathlon, Krull collected 3,032 points to finish third. Priscilla Frederick of St. John's won the event by more than 500 points, finishing with a total of 3,608. The other final on Friday was the men's weight throw, where Ewald's toss of 16.47 m (54'0½) was good enough for third place. Arthur Guerra of Southern Connecticut State won the gold medal with a throw of 16.92 m (55'6¼).
The remainder of the meet will take place at the Armory Track & Field Center on Saturday. Competition gets underway at 10 a.m.
