Moon Township, Pa. (September 24, 2004)-Robert Morris University was victorious against the women's soccer team beating them 1-0 at North Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon. Manhattan falls to a 0-7 overall record while the Colonials improved to 1-6-1.

The Colonials withstood an early surge by the Jaspers when an opportunity to counterattack opened. A quick through-ball from sophomore Hilary sprung Kuhn one-on-one with Manhattan goalie Kiera Fox (New Windsor, NY). Kuhn flicked the ball up and over Fox 17:17 into the game to give RMU a lead they would not relinquish.

The Lady J's had several opportunities throughout the game out shooting the Colonials 23-11. The closest Manhattan got was when Brandy Luther (Pueblo, CO) took a point blank shot midway through the first half that was stopped by RMU's goalkeeper Elizabeth Moss. An early second-half free kick by Chelsea Volpe (Baldwin, NY) was pushed aside at the last second as Moss slid across late to her near post.

The Jaspers play again on Sunday, September 26 against Saint Francis University in Loretta, PA at 2 p.m.
