Jersey City, NJ (May 1, 2004)- Manhattan and Saint Peter's split a MAAC double header today at Jaroachak Field in Jersey City, NJ. Saint Peter's won game one, 2-0, before the Lady Jaspers posted a 2-0 win in game two. Manhattan now stands at 15-26 overall and 8-4 in MAAC play, maintaining the top spot in the conference play.
In the second game, the Lady Jaspers scored all the runs they would need as Stefanie Gozdziewski plated Jennifer McCracken and Margaret LaFex with a single down the rightfield line.
Jillian Medea would make the two runs stand up, allowing just three hits while tallying four strikeouts.
In game one, the two teams traded scoreless innings for the first four innings before Saint Peter's plated a run on a solo home run by Pam DeLuca leading off the fifth, and another in the sixth on a DeLuca single.
Robin Freels (7-10) scattered seven hits for the win.
