YALE SWEEPS DOUBLE HEADER FROM SOFTBALL

GAME 2 BOXSCORE



New Haven, CT (March 28, 2004)- Yale's Emily Lederer connected on a home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 extra inning win over Manhattan in the first game of a double header at DeWitt Family Field. Yale posted a 9-0 win in the second game.

In game one, the Lady Jaspers took the early lead, as Marina Ysaac tripled home Colleen Horgan for a 1-0 lead. Manhattan extended the lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth, as Kiera Fox led off the inning with a home run to left center.

Yale evened the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single and an RBI sacrifice fly, sending the game into extra frames before Lederer connected on the game-ending blast.

Erika Kostik went 3-4 and Michelle Gutierrez went 2-4 for the Lady Jaspers. Jillian Medea (1-8) went the distance, striking out three.

In the second game, Yale scored two in the first, three in the second, and four in the fourth as the game was shortened to five innings as a result of the score. Horgan (1-4) took the loss for Manhattan.
